    What is CASA ?

CASA is a not-for-profit organization serving the community. CASA Volunteers are Court Appointed Special Advocates appointed by a Judge to speak on behalf of children who come under the jurisdiction of the court because of child abuse or neglect.

All children have a right to a safe home with loving people to care for them. However, each year in Michigan and Wisconsin, thousands of children experience abuse or neglect. Over 15,000 children are removed from their homes and placed in foster care, relative care, or an institution.

National CASA Conference

Our staff was able to travel to the National CASA / GAL Association for Children annual conference in St. Louis, MO June 9-13. This year's theme was Strong Families, Strong Futures - reducing the number of children in foster care, strengthen and support families, and increase diversity, equity and inclusion in the network.

This provided an excellent opportunity for learning and growth as we networked with staff and volunteers from across the county and heard from world class speakers. We came home with new ideas and energy for continuing our work here at home!

I volunteer with CASA because I believe that a kid's life can be changed if they know ther
