What is CASA?
CASA is a not-for-profit organization serving the community. CASA Volunteers are Court Appointed Special Advocates appointed by a Judge to speak on behalf of children who come under the jurisdiction of the court because of child abuse or neglect.
All children have a right to a safe home with loving people to care for them. However, each year in Michigan and Wisconsin, thousands of children experience abuse or neglect. Over 15,000 children are removed from their homes and placed in foster care, relative care, or an institution.

Dear Community:
CASA would like to express our appreciation to Faith Sandhal for her 6-year tenure as Executive Director. Faith spent immeasurable hours working with the youth and families of our communities. We recognize her remarkable accomplishments and CASA is forever grateful.
Let me introduce myself: my name is Marie Posephny. I am the new Executive Director at CASA of Menominee and Marinette Counties.
When this opportunity was presented, I could not have thought of a more meaningful and fulfilling way to serve our community. At the time, I was working in Management at a Community Mental Health Clinic. However, the mission and values of CASA align well with my personal goals. We all have a story to tell, and I have now chosen CASA as a part of mine.
To our community and the organizations that we work so closely with: As we move forward, our families from both Menominee and Marinette Counties will continue to be served with the same compassion and understanding. CASA has been an invaluable resource in our communities since 2004. The children and families whom we have served over the past 20 years can attest to that.
The CASA staff, advocates, volunteers, and board members continue to put our Mission, Vision, and Values on the forefront of what we stand for and upon which we build our foundation. Our volunteer advocates, being the voice for children who have experienced abuse or neglect, are the heart and soul of our organization to assure each child has a safe, permanent, and nurturing home.
To the donors and community members that contribute to this great organization: Our sincere gratitude and thanks go out to you. Thank you everyone for everything that you have done and continue to do for CASA. As the saying goes, “It takes a village”.
I have included my contact information below. Whether it be by phone, text, email, or stopping by the office during business hours, I look forward to meeting each and every one of you. With my sincere gratitude, I am looking forward to working with our community for years to come!
